Michael is a physiotherapist at Melbourne Orthopaedic Group (MOG) Sports Medicine and is currently completing his PhD investigating impairments in adult hip dysplasia. Clinically he sees predominantly hip and groin injuries, ranging from athletes with sport-related pain, children with developmental conditions, and young adults with early-onset arthritis.
Over the past 15 years his experience has included working in elite sport, hip and groin research and teaching, and clinical work. Prior to commencing research, he was working with Melbourne Victory Football Club. He has published papers on groin strength testing modalities in football players (A-League and AFL), surgical outcomes for hip dysplasia, rehabilitation for circus athletes with hip pain, and strength and functional performance measures in football players with hip dysplasia.
