Jane Rooney is a Specialist Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist (sub speciality knee), Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and has a Certificate in Acupuncture. Jane is an Associate Clinical Professor at Swinburne University, Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Melbourne University and a Churchill Fellow.

With extensive experience in the Sports Medicine field both in Europe and Australia, Jane is the Clinical Director at Prahran Sports Medicine Centre in Melbourne, Australia.

Her passion is clinical work. With over 30 years clinical experience, treating athletes of all levels from the recreational athlete to the elite international professional athlete, in a large variety of sports including tennis, gymnastics, snow sports, netball, cycling and athletics, to name a few. Jane's professional interests are knee injury rehabilitation, particularly anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, patellofemoral dysfunction and knee osteoarthritis management.

Jane was awarded a prestigious Churchill Fellowship to investigate management algorithms and rehabilitation programs for ACL injury.

She has since developed an evidence based structured ACL rehabilitation program and criteria based return to sport test, to help optimise recovery and minimise the risk of reinjury following ACL reconstructions and other knee injuries. Jane also has implemented world best practice knee osteoarthritis management programs.
