Course Instructors

Hamish Macauley
Director Elite Sport Rehab & Physiotherapist Geelong Football Club (AFL)
Hamish has extensive experience working with both amateur and elite athletes. Among Hamish’s past roles include Head Physiotherapist of the Geelong Cats (AFL), Australian Rugby Union team lead physio & Head Physiotherapist of the Brumbies Super Rugby team. Hamish has degrees in Physiotherapy and Human Movement. He also holds a Masters of Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Whilst he treats all injuries, he has a special interest in shoulder rehabilitation. Hamish has just moved back to Canberra from his time in AFL to carry on his role as clinical director at Elite Sports & Physiotherapy.

Andrew McGough

Andrew is a Specialist Sports Physiotherapists and principal of Clem Jones Centre Physio and Rehab. Andrew is the current Head of Medical/Head Physiotherapist to the Brisbane Bullets in the NBL. He is also the National Team Physiotherapist for Diving Australia. In 2018, Andrew was selected on the Australian Commonwealth Games Team (Medical Headquarters Physiotherapist), Gold Coast. Leanne Bisset
Academic Lead Physiotherapy, Griffith University

Leanne Bisset is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist (APA titled) and a full-time academic (Associate Professor) at Griffith University, Australia. She has worked in the public and private health care sectors throughout Australia and overseas for >25 years. Dr Bisset teaches into the Physiotherapy programs at Griffith University, as well as maintaining a part-time clinical practice load at Allsports Physiotherapy & Sports Medicine Clinic.

Dr Bisset completed her PhD from The University of Queensland in 2008. Her fields of research expertise include musculoskeletal physiotherapy, evidence based practice and the management of non-traumatic upper limb disorders. In particular, her research has focused on mechanisms, clinical profile, and treatment efficacy for elbow tendinopathy. Dr Bisset is supervising PhD students and is interested in connecting with people who are interested in enrolling in a higher degree in research.

Dr Steven Frederiksen
Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr Frederiksen is an upper limb orthopaedic surgeon specialising in surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist including microvascular and peripheral nerve surgery Dr Frederiksen maintains public practice at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He consults at Brisbane Private Hospital and operates at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital, Spring Hill. Dr Frederiksen also consults at the Brisbane Sports and Exercise Medicine Specialists and Bundaberg Occupational Therapy.
